Users Interact
Nonograms (a.k.a. Hanjie or Griddlers), have been around since the '80s, appearing in print publications and later on video game systems. These interesting puzzles allow players to use clues along the rows and columns of a grid to draw a picture. Solving puzzles, particularly intricate ones, can be extremely difficult, but highly rewarding.
PixlCross is the latest game built on the Nonogram-style of puzzle, offering up 150+ puzzles across four levels of difficulty. While the easiest puzzles may start on simple 5x5 grids, by the final puzzle, players will have tackled puzzles that span 35 rows and columns.
But don't worry, you won't have to solve the big ones all in one go. After each move, PixlCross will save your progress and allow you to jump back in whenever you're ready. With the ability to use hints when you're stuck, you can make PixlCross as easy or hard as you want.
Whether you're using the GamePad on the Wii U or the mouse on the PC, it's spectacularly simple to interact with PixlCross. Simply slide along the grid to fill in or cross out grid boxes and solve the puzzle.
When you're done solving all of the puzzles in the game, you can hop over to the Puzzle Editor and begin creating puzzles of your own! The editing tool is the same that was used to make the game and will even tell you if your puzzle can be solved without guessing. Those without the creative flair can always leverage the strengths of the community by downloading puzzles right off the cloud.
Players excited to get their Nonogram fix won't have to wait long, PixlCross is currently on target for a Q2/Q3 2015 releaase on the Wii U, PC, Mac, and Linux.
