I just sent you a friend request on the Switch.
New Horizons is great, but I actually think New Leaf was the better game, at least so far.

To not just post a blog but to finally join all the cool kids and acquire a Nintendo Switch Lite. That's right, the stimulus money finally arrived and I got lucky with this purchase. It wasn't even planned on. The original plan was to get a new Xbox One controller; I didn't even care about dropping $170 for an Elite controller. When the local Walmart had nothing in stock in regards to controllers, my eyes wandered to the Nintendo Switch cases. There was one box for a Coral skew/version/skin Lite and I made the choice right then and there. Who knows when an opportunity would come again.
In addition, I picked up a 128 GB micro sd card, a year subscription card for Nintendo Switch Online and a travel case. Later on that day, I bought a digital version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons because I was so sick of being behind on the curve. It was easy to setup everything. The freebies that come with Switch Online are pretty cool: Tetris 99 is pretty addicting even though I'm still struggling to place higher; the NES and SNES games are a nice addition. The console itself feels good in my hands. While I might invest in a grip of some sort in the future, it works just fine for me.
I'm just 3 days into Animal Crossing so I'm still waiting for certain things to unlock but it looks great, sounds great and the whole resource management/fetch quest aspect worked better than I thought it would. Now my dilemma is how I'm going to give attention to this and New Leaf, which I'm still playing. Too invested to leave that game high and dry.
If anyone wants to add me, my friend code is SW-2942-1458-8205.
In other gaming news, the other big purchase was Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) for Xbox One. I had the Warzone mode but my older brother and his friends are playing other modes besides Warzone and as soon as it was on sale for Xbox Live, I picked it up. It's a solid FPS, with a battle royale mode that I find lots of fun.
Sorry for the long absence. Hopefully I can get back into a more regular state of blogging. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
I would love to have BotW or Animal Crossing, but I think I'm just set in my ways as far as only ever owning one console (or PC, as I consider my PC a replacement for a 360 with hit-or-miss XBONE capabilities) per generation. Not cause of console wars, but cause of money, time, finances, student loans, etc.
