Wow! A PhD? I used to live in Austin in my college days.
Right now I'm mostly playing this for a review. I really like it so far:

Well, howdy Pixl bits! To catch you up to speed on what I have going on and what I'm playing/doing:
I haven't been on here much because PhD life has been busy, though it did allow me to meet some online friends in their neck of the woods in Philadelphia. I'll post pictures from that trip if you ask real nice! My presentation went well, even though I submitted it too late to win any awards.
I've finally got my TV back from storage (long story, I moved from Nacogdoches back to Austin recently), and have been playing Callisto Protocol, which is GORGEOUS but a bit dull combat-wise.
I can't seem to find my external hard drive for the PS4 games I own, so I think if I don't find that soon, I'll just stick to only having a game or so at a time I'm working on, anyway. I need to limit distractions, regardless.
I bought tickets to Snow tha Product at Emo's in Austin tomorrow, which is also where I saw The Toadies in December 2021.
Watched the first episode of the new Batman cartoon on Amazon Prime. Seems promising. I'm sure there's gonna be an "anti-woke" review-bombing campaign due to some characters having different races/genders than the original comics but the tone is matching the 90s Batman, so I'm so far thinking I'll like it. We'll see once I get past episode two, etc.
I'm excited to finally get Hi-Fi Rush for PS5 as well, since my laptop couldn't quite handle it. Speaking of my laptop games, I need to get back to Pentiment.
What's everyone else playing?
I'm living in Austin cause the PhD program is at UT Austin. I have mixed feelings about this place, but it's got its charms.
That game's character design reminds me of those ninja games with the cartoony looking protagonist that were on SNES and N64 ... Goemon, I think?
Well I'm still under embargo so I don't want to talk about Bakeru TOO much, but I will note that a lot of people are saying that Bakeru is like the spiritual successor to Goemon. In fact, the company that made Bakeru, Good Feel, their president used to work for Konami making Goemon games!
I've been muddling through One Piece Odyssey. It's like Dragon Quest but with the Straw Hat Pirates. I think it even has the same developers. I'm enjoying it.
Recently picked up Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Enjoying that.
Also ordered a physical copy of Princess Maker 2 and played through that.
Mostly been limited to old arcade games, because I've been sick and that's about the extent of my gaming ability right now.
I had started Yakuza 0 early this year...but then we moved and it fell by the wayside. I finally picked it back up about a month ago and actually finished it last night, though I am going back to finishing the cabaret club management mini game. That thing is oddly compelling.
What's your PHD going to be about?
I just noticed the other day the use of Tears for Fear's Mad World within the GoW3 game. I had always thought it was just used in the ads. I haven't noticed the Megadeth song. I'll have to check that out. I probably heard it but didn't recognize it.
