Yah, mon, games played and all. Here's 'bout.
Defense Grid 2 (tower defense game) - I can't believe it, but I finally got that last achievement I didn't get about a decade ago to fully complete this game. It was the 100 gold medals one. The game doesn't clearly tell you how it counts medals but thanks to my link-up with Trueachievements on my Xbox, I was able to query the community and figure that out. About a half dozen games played later, I had that last achievement, which I then posted to r/xboxachievements. Wee hoo! I don't get to that very often.
Halo 5 - I played a little co-op with my friend Mark but the achievements for co-op require Heroic difficulty which is a little too arduous to be fun for me. We got through a level and then stopped. I did play some more Warzone Firefight with randos, however, and got the achievements for that mode. I love firefight - loved it ever since it came out with Halo Reach. In Halo 5 firefight there is a gigantic armored Grunt that appears occasionally that you have to take out which continually taunts you. That was fun. I also like the card system. You get cards for playing and then can use them in multiplayer when you request new weapons and abilities. Cool!
Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - I replayed all of this, I think, for the third time now. It was originally a DLC for B2, which I played, and then I played this standalone version on Xbox One, and now I played it again on Xbox Series S. I'm determined to pick up some more achievements on this standalone version, and so I'm on True Vault Hunter mode and going very slowly through all the content: side missions and challenges. It's neat to pay close attention to everything instead of just driving to the main story's end like I did the first time. I've also been very frustrated over determining what equipment is better than what, but I'm slowly learning. I always try to simplify the system so I don't have to think about it so much, but this always gets me into an underpowered situation that has me screaming at the TV. I'm taking my time, and I'm starting to have more fun with it. Oh, and comparisons to the movie? Don't bother. The movie should've been this game: DnD, wacky, sometimes dark humor, exciting action, obessions with gear and loot, what do you need to change?
Game Pass - I dabbled in a lot of Game Pass games but none stuck with me such as:
Star Trucker
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
Sunset Overdrive
Age of Empires: Mythology
WarGroove 2
Techtonica
I'm looking forward to October and my 2016-2018 playlist.
