I salute your dedication to planning! You could easily spend the whole year on those three generations that you're giving two months to each, so this is a very ambitious plan. I would expect nothing less! At this point I don't remember what your stated plan was for this year. Is there any overlap between the two plans?

I've come up with a 2025 plan for my gaming. The goal is to put the entire history of video games into 12 parts so I can travel in time over the course of the year (I do this for music and literature as well). Here's what I came up with.
I'm going to follow the console generations. There are only 9 of them (soon 10 I think), so I'm doubling three of the ones with the most games. Here's what the list looks like with notes:
January - Gen 1: This is Pong. The 70s. I'm going to expand this with early arcade games and the card/board game genre because there's only so much you can do with Pong. Early text based adventure games for PC could be a thing as well. I'll be researching anything at all to add to Pong which is, ultimately, not very interesting.
February - Gen 2: This is when I got into video games. Atari 2600, Colecovision and Intellivision were the consoles all us kids played in my neighborhood. There were also the Mattel LED games and Nintendo's Game & Watch handheld games, and, of course, the arcades. So many arcade games to sample/revisit for this gen! I'll won't run out of games to play.
March - Gen 3: NES, Sega Master System, Game Boy and Atari 7800. I'll be digging in hard with NES games, probably mostly on my Switch, but I have a Retron 3 for NES carts. I am also curious about the Atari 7800 and will look into whether I can get one or just play what's included in the Atari 50 collection. Oh, and PC. I had a Mac Plus at this time (circa 1986) and played a few games on it. I might look into PC games and see what I can play.
April - Gen 4: Genesis and SNES mainly. Yes, there are the Turbografx-16 and Neo Geo too, but there's not a lot there I'm interested in. I'll have some tough choices between Genesis and SNES. I'll also have some PC and Game Boy games to check out.
May - Gen 5: Mainly Playstation and N64. 3D0, Jaguar and Saturn don't have much I'm that interested in. I'm sure I'll never run out of stuff to play on PS and N64. Oh, and PC. Lots of good stuff on PC in the 90s I could check out. And, lest I forget, Game Boy Color. There's not a lot there that interests me, but it's worth looking into.
June - Gen 6: I'll be playing Xbox, Gamecube, PS2 and Game Boy Advance. I used to have a Dreamcast but now I don't. I don't have a strong interest in getting another one. Also some PC stuff. I have so much to get to on these systems, that I'll extend this Gen into July.
July - Gen 6, pt.2: I would say Gen 6 (early 2000s) is where I became a bit more hardcore about game collecting. I was determined to have all three major systems, when I could afford them: Xbox for crossplatform games and PS2 and NGC for their exclusives. So much to play in this gen. I should mention also the Game Mags. I had lots of magazines I used to read. I miss that. I might collect a few to relive the magic.
August - Gen 7: This is Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii with DS and 3DS. I have since traded my PSP and Vita, so I won't be looking at those. There's so much here that I'll extend this to two months. I've been rebuilding my 360 and PS3 collections over this year, even adding a few DS and 3DS games.
September - Gen 7, pt. 2: I would say I was pretty much done with PC gaming at this point - 2005 onward. I switched to laptops and rarely played anything on them.
October - Gen 8: Wii-U, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. Such a vast amount of stuff to play in this gen. It'll be worth it to go two months with this one. I'm considering buying a Xbox One again (I have all the others) even though most of the games are playable on my Xbox Series S. There is Forza Horizon 2 and 3, however, and the Toys-2-Life games I played there around 2015 or thereabouts. For the $100 it's going for right now, I might do it.
November - Gen 8 Pt. 2: Even two months is likely not enough for all this gaming goodness, but I'll try and get as much done as possible.
December - Gen 9: There are some games I play exclusive to the X Series of Xbox but not many. I don't have a PS5 yet either. Will I get one in 2025? It's uncertain. My limit on game consoles is $400. I don't know if a version of PS5 will be that price this time next year but maybe.
And that's my plan, as I have it so far. I think it will stick. What do you think?
