??????????????????!!!

(This is my new favorite thing, basically!)

I decided to stop being a lazy bum and to do something I've always wanted to do... learn some Japanese. I've plugged away at hiragana/katakana and now begins the long climb of kanji. As a treat, I imported the Hong Kong version of Hatsune Miku Project Diva f 2! (It's in Japanese, go figure. xD)

I've been so busy playing it (along with Tales of Destiny R/FFXIV:ARR/Minecraft for Vita) that I have been absent from Pixlbit. I hope you will forgive me. ;__;

Having played Project Diva f until my thumbs were on fire- Diva f 2 takes everything I loved about the first installment and improved on it greatly.

The song list is amazing... but I have to note that the difficulty spiked on this version quite a bit. I'm not sure if it's going to be tweaked a bit for the NA/EU releases but even 4 star songs on Easy were giving me trouble at first. (I played Diva f and could beat 6 stars on Hard comfortably! *cough*still not that great I know but heh*cough*)

DIVA Room interactions are much more intuative now. (I still remember staring at my screen in disbelief while Luka sung "Yankee Doo-Doo" (yes, it does sound like that) in broken english and we played a patty-cake type game. So cute! I think this game is right at home on the Vita. I can't imagine interacting with the characters without a touch screen.

I've heard that the NA release is going to have all the lyrics translated. This is not an easy feat AT ALL given Japan's prone to snafus that often come up with localizing music games/translations (in which various artists own rights to songs). Personally, I hope the translations are optional. Kana or romaji is good in my book. I'm secretly worried that I'll listen to one of my favorite songs and be devestated when I realize what she's been singing about this whole time. O.o

All in all, I'm still psyched for the release on the 18th. Any other Miku fans out there?

???????!!!

I reviewed the first Hatsune Miku game on the US PS3.  I plan to do the same with the sequel next week, provided SEGA co-operates.

Only other thing I know about Hatsune Miku is that there is a character in Hyrule Warriors who looks an awful lot like her.  My brother Jeff and I even call her that.

And that's all I know about Hatsune Miku.  Hope to hear more from you here soon!

That is way cool. I would like to learn some Japanese right after I learn proper English. :)

You should try Wani Kani! It's a site from the people that run Textfugu and it teaches you Kanji with SSR learning patterns that really makes them stick, it's amazing!

Oh man, Kanji is something I've never got my head around when I was learning Japanese in high school. I can understand stuff written in hiragana and katakana but I only know one or two characters in Kanji, and even still the same character in kanji can have a bunch of different meanings. @_@ So much to still learn.

I wrote to some of the other comments here that if you wanna learn Kanji, check out Wani Kani. They do a spaced-learning system and everything really stuck for me. I realized after a week or two I knew a good 50 kanji or so. It's free to level 3 so if you have a chance, give it a go! :3

I tired the demo of thsi game offered on PSn and I have to say I wasn't that impressed. what got me was the difficulty curve in trying to get the right button presses right. Too hard even for me to keep up with, and I play DDR.

Did you play on ps3 or Vita? When I played on ps3 I did terribly, but the Vita was like night and day. I think it has to do with the lag on the tv.

(and hooray to fellow DDR fans :D)
