Greetings and salutations to all! It's been a long time since I've been truely active in this place. Heck, until recently, I hadn't written a review since September 2017 (2017?!)- that's well over a year! Why the long wait? "Time" and/or "writer's block" are my go-to responses these days. Actually, I think it's always been my go-to reason. Be that as it may, I'm happy to finally have something to contribute to PixlBit again. Speaking of which, my review of Dragon Warrior is now up on the site. Consider it an early celebration of the upcoming 30th anniversary of Dragon Quest in North America later this year.

Hello everyone. I'm late posting stuff as usual. Thought I'd get it done on Monday and here it is Friday already.  So let's get right to it. Here's what rounded out my game purchases for April.

So I decided that I missed playing Master System games. However, I didn't want to purchase a Master System console because frankly, there just isn't the space for more console. So what did I do? Sega Power Base Converter  to the rescue (pictured here)!! For those of you unaware of what it is, the Power Base Converter was an early Genesis hardware add-on that allows you to play most Master System games on the Genny. Here's the Master System games I purchased:

I decided that since I've hit a lull in writing reviews, it couldn't hurt to shift focus for a bit and talk about the games I've steady been aquiring over the last month. As I mentioned in my previous update, I posted these pictures on my Instagram and I though it'd be fun to share them with you guys. Unfortunately, there's one photo I could not upload, becaue I had to delete stuff from my phone back when I still had an aging 16GB iPhone 5S and needed to make space for other stuff. But I'll still mention the items aren't seen in this post.

I felt compelled to post something around here because it's been nearly 2 months since my last Review Rewind, and over a year since my last blog post. I always start to feel a bit guilty when I haven't had much activity on Pixlbit (though I have been in and out of reading\commenting on your blogs).

This month I've been completely absent from blogging.  Sorry I couldn't participate in BaD this year.  But I just had to share this in case others aren't aware yet.  Last night, I was treated to a nice surprise upon booting up my Wii U and visiting the eShop.  I saw the following:

Well January 1, 2015 makes 4 years that The Wife and I  have been married.  And this year, she got me a Wii U system which came bundled with Super Mario 3D World, Nintendo Land, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, and Super Smash Bros. Wii U!  She purchased it back in November when Best Buy offered it as a Black Friday deal for $360.  Wow...thoughtful and frugal.  What a woman!

After months of searching and planning, my wife and I finally got a puppy!  He's an adorable 8 week-old Maltese pup.  Hasn't had his shots and vaccinations yet, but we're taking him to the vet on Thursday to get him checked out and make sure he a has a clean bill of health.  All seems well so far though. We got him this past Friday from a nice family in Salisbury, MD.
