I don't love gross-out games, but I would dig an Earthworm Jim revival. It's not gross-out on the level of Boogerman. There was a Ren & Stimpy game, I remember. Firefighting was a theme in it, I think. Loved Revolution X in the arcade. 

I skipped my idea for a video game Stage Select because I might actually try to make it and I don't want people stealing my idea. Thieves! 

STAGE SELECT:

Next gen improvements: VR that basically looks like AR; native 8K; flying cars and shit. CONTINUING THE TREND OF USING A LOT OF COLORS.

Most of all, I want exclusivity to end, all games from the past, present and future to be downloadable on one platform, and we'll all just choose the best or most affordable hardware from there. This is a pipe dream, but I can dream. 

Glad to have you with me on another work night. Not sure what happened but this one didnt pop up on my Doggcatcher App. Hope that was just a small glitch. 

Anyways I hope this new giveaway helps boost numbers. I love this podcast and was genuinely sad when you said you almost called it quits after Angelo left. It is irreplaceable compared to my other podcasts. Keep up the good fight!

I wasn't confused by the Stage Select topic last week. I may have came off wrong but I was trying to say the type of game I'd make. I dont know what type of game Gain Ground fits into but it's hard to describe unlike RPG or Adventure.

The game isnt so much about trying to fight for land. You start with 3 characters and have to try to get each to the, "finish line" at the top of the screen while avoiding/killing enemies. If you get hit you go unconscious, but then you can use the other characters to retrieve them and if you escape they dont die. Alternatively you can just kill all the enemies on screen to finish the level. Along the way each map, if I remember correctly, has a new character to rescue and they will join your team. So you can have 20+ characters with different weapons. I think it's worth a try if you have a Genesis collection laying around somewhere. I can easily see a great sequel be pretty cool with a tad of RPG elements.

You should definitely check out Apex Legends. It's really good and would be my first recommendation for a BR.

You mentioned the Terminator show but you're off. It was called the Sarah Conner Chronicles and I wish it hit 5 seasons. It only had 2 and left on an interesting cliff hanger. Damn you Fox!!!

While not every game has a built in timer, I think you can check the time played on your Xbox Achievements page. It takes a bit of digging but you should find it just fine. I could have sworn PS4 has something similar but I could be wrong. Speaking of that...

Stage Select: Next Gen Features

I think next gen should let us use our old controllers and be completely backwards compatible with this current gen. I'd like more mod support like PC. I know Xbox dabbled in this with Fallout 4 but I don't know if anything else has.

I personally wouldn't mind some kind of upgrade kits. Make it very simple so those who want to avoid PC type maintenance can get by with practically no issue. It should be as easy as changing tapes in a VCR like the N64 Expansion Pack. 

Yeah, I was so frenzied trying to get the podcast posted that night that I forgot to hit the button that publishes it to the podcast apps. I remembered the following morning.

I could have sworn that The Sarah Connor Chronicles went 5 seasons. Maybe I was just salty over Dollhouse. At least Fringe got 4 seasons, even if we should never talk about season 4. Like, ever.

Ah, ok. Was afraid my app was getting too old. I wish Sarah Conner went longer, I really enjoyed it. Fringe was amazing, I miss it. It actually went 5 seasons but you probably blocked out those memories...

While I havent watched season 5.  I know Walter listens to Yaz, and that alone is reason enough for the season to exist.

Was it five? I just remember thinking it ended perfectly, then went one last horrible season.

Damnit...  I clearly was't drunk when I wrote my last Stage Select, but it sounds like something I may have written while drunk.  I was missing words, and letters and other stuff.  HOW DID I MISS THE SUPER BEFORE METROID?!?!?!????!??

RE2 is a phenomenal game.  I have only finished Claire A, but I think that alone is enough to justify the purchase.  I am still amazed at how it reminds me of the original, how it it's exactly how I remember it, even though I know it is not.

BETTER FRICKIN' DIGITAL STORES - the psn sucks, the eshop sucks, no idea about the Xbox, but I assume it sucks.

Well, that’s a horse of a different color! Although, I really think so many games are trying to be Super Metroid that a game trying to emulate that first game might feel fresh and different as a result.

I loved the talk around Ark: Survival Evolved. I didn't know there was so much building in it. I'm going to have to try it. I think it's on Xbox's Game Pass right now. 

Stage Select: I'd like the next gen of consoles to be seemlessly connected to PC and Mobile content. I want to buy and play PC and Mobile games on my console. I'm always missing great stuff on both those platforms because I primarily play games on console. Bridge the gap, and I'll be happy.
