New Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition Details Released
Aside from the new control scheme players should expect a new playable scenario
Yesterday at their press conference, Sony announced Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition for PS3. Today, during Capcom's TGS Press Conference Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata revealed new details about the upcoming survival horror game.
While the key difference between the two titles remains the implementation of motion control, another important difference comes to fruition through the request of fans. Any fan of the game will remember the flashback scene in which Chris and Jill sneak into the Spencer Estate in Europe, however this time around the scenario is actually playable. The Resident Evil 5 project director Miho Suzuki stated, "It was a key incident in Resident Evil 5...In Alternative Edition, you'll actually be able to play through it. We had a lot of requests from fans about it."
So far Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition has only been officially announced for release in Japan. North American Capcom representatives have not yet responded to requests regarding the potential for a north American release. A possible XBOX 360 version was also hinted at by Suzuki himself, although specific details regarding the release, as well as any possible implementation of Microsoft's Project Natal, are still unknown.
Resident Evil 5: Alternative edition is expected to release in Japan during Spring of 2010 as Biohazard 5: Alternative Edition.
