Nerds Without Pants Episode 277: Be Like Detlef Schrempf

Book the Quad City DJs for your event now!

Wow, we’re really coasting into hiatus without a care, aren’t we? We didn’t even realize that this is the penultimate listener interactive episode of the year, but here we are! Welcome back to a games-packed edition of Nerds Without Pants! We have most of the big recent releases to talk about, some smaller ones that may or may not be up your alley, and even a little movie talk. Plus, headlines and your emails! Well, email, singular. Should the Banana Boat be drydocked?

Marvel's Spider-Man Review

Greetings True Believers!

Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, but his video game history has been a deep well of untapped potential. He’s had good games still worth playing today, yet he’s never had an entry on par with Batman’s excellent Arkham titles. Marvel’s Spider-Man is Insomniac’s attempt at elevating Spider-Man to the same level as Batman. While they do not quite reach that same quality standard, there is a solid foundation for Insomniac to build upon.

Sony Stays the Course

Not much new at E3 2017, but maybe we didn't need it.

Let’s face it: while Microsoft has plenty of lost ground to make up for, Sony has been sitting pretty since the beginning of the 8th console generation. Even with the waves being made by the Nintendo Switch, there probably isn’t much that Sony needs to do to keep their position in the market secure. So their E3 presentation this year was a deliberate, measured, and comprehensive volley of games, even if there was little to surprise viewers.
