Well, because I'm playing this so why not start a thread for Dark Souls I. 

Anyone else still playing this game? Post things in here.

I'm always playing it as well, how are you making out in the game AsReal?

Chessa and I are both playing it, though she's going to have to take a break because of a broken finger. It's her first playthrough my secondish. I've played through some of the game in NG+ on the Xbox 360, but I started fresh on the PS3 (got the Prepare to Die Edition).

I'm up to Sen's Fortress right now, Chessa's at the Bell Gargoyles.

Just beat Anar Londo.

I got the lord vesses, so I can warp around. I took a break after Anar Londo boss and picked up again. I was poking around the catacombs and new londo ruins, but geez the game doesnt let up does it. Damned ghost things and unkillable skeletons!

Im right after Anor Londo and hunting down those final demons souls for that talking penis/dragon monster.

Ah, I know exactly where you are; and it's basically a four-way intersection in which there's truly no 'right' path.

Either way (New Londo/Catacombs) is correct, but there are also 2 other paths you can explore if you choose to do so!

Ah - the skeletons are definitely kill-able, just need to find the Necromancers near them. Ghosts are too, but you either need a cursed weapon, a transient curse consumable item, or to actually be cursed.

Anor Londo was definitely the toughest point in the game for me on my first playthrough, but once I got past it, things cooled down quite a bit. I'd suggest heading down into the Catacombs and getting the Rite of Kindling. Definitely makes your life easier, plus it's not too rough of an area after Anor Londo, imo.

but the skeletons are bastards. The thing I actually hate is the layout of the catacombs and the darkness, so confusing dammit! Reminds me of the Zelda skeletons that never die. I need better weapons. 

Well these places are close together, the entrances are any how. But those ghosts are bastards! 

 Tomb of the Giants is shit, and Nito is my least favourite boss in the game. Have fun!

So which weapons are the best or worth leveling for end game?
Fire, Lightning, Magic?

What about magic?
Pyromancy? etc.
What is the best weapons, or most weapons used throuout the game?
I mostly used the two handed giant swords, bow and halberd.  

Okay, so after playing Demons Souls/Dark Souls/ and Dark Souls 2 back-to-back I have to say that I really felt dissapointed by the areas in Dark Soul 1 after Anar Londo. By dissapointment, I dont mean awfully bad, just kind of let down.

Catacombs/Tomb of Giants--ran through it.
Dukes Archive/Crystal Cave-- annoying archers and invisible walkways?
Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith, this area seemed empty and isolated.
Hollow/Ash Lake-- An endless drop and then dead end? 

I feel like Demons Souls was more consistent with level design and challenge throughout, where Dark Souls kind of wavered near the end. I'm not mentioning the DLC for Dark Souls. 

i picked this up today, as since finishing 2 this series has become a fixation of my interest.  I've also been playing a bit of Demon's Souls.  Good good stuff.

Allright, a bit of a status report is in order:

I've made my way through the Lower Undead Burg and am currently in the Depths.  Last night I dusted the Hydra and today the Capra Demon fell...onward!!!

Finished up the Gaping Dragon with the help of a summoned 'live' white phantom.  Instead of heading to Blighttown from there I ended up heading back to Undead Asylum F2 via Firelink Shrine to grab up the Old Doll for later.  Oddly I was unable to kill the Stray Demon so I gave up and headed back to Firelink Shrine.  Taking the Valley Of Drakes route through to Blighttown.

Gonna farm for equipment reinforcement a bit and then commence.  That's where I'm at, presently.

Made it down to Quelaag and finished her off with the help of 2 phantoms.  Also talked to Quelana.  I'm currently looking to surface from Blighttown and find Lautrec.
