More Asura's Wrath? Sign me the hell up! I'll probably wait until everything is out, buy it in one shot, and replay the game from the beginning with all the new stuff in there. The only thing that could make this DLC better would be the addition of a theme song to the game and a way to play the game with Ryu and Akuma skins.
Asura's Wrath Gets a Ton of DLC
It's time to get angry all over again!
Asura’s Wrath wouldn’t seem like an obvious candidate for a whole slate of DLC, considering it’s a new IP that wasn’t aggressively marketed by Capcom. But that’s just what’s in store for the heavily anime-inspired action game. We’ve learned details for the DLC schedule, and it’s surprisingly robust.
First up are two “half episodes” which seem to be completely animated. Some might find the idea of paying for non-interactive content strange, but in the realm of Asura’s Wrath it’s business as usual. Episode 11.5: Forging Ahead is out now, and Episode 15.5: Defiance will be released April 3rd. Both of these episodes are 160 Microsoft Points, or 1.99 on PSN.
April 24 sees the release of the largest piece of content: an entire new part to the game. Part IV: Nirvana includes 4 new episodes, and is said to be the “true” ending to Asura’s Wrath. This hefty piece of content is priced reasonably at 560 MSP, or 6.99.
Two rather humorous bonus episodes are up for grabs in May. On May 8 Asura takes on Ryu of Street Fighter fame in Lost Episode I: At Last, Someone Angrier Than Me. May 15 sees the ante upped when Akuma joins the fray in Lost Episode II: The Strongest vs. the Angriest. These bonus episodes actually play like a traditional Street Fighter match, though there appear to be some story bits as well.
Asura’s Wrath is a unique game that isn’t for everybody. Read our review and see if it’s a game for you!
